For the Italian Fried Shrimp
  • 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Shrimp

Start by peeling and deveining the shrimp if not already done. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.

  2. Mix the Coating

In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed.

  3. Coat the Shrimp

Dredge each shrimp in the seasoned flour mixture, making sure to coat them thoroughly. Shake off any excess flour.

  4. Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. Fry the Shrimp
    • Carefully add the coated shrimp to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the skillet. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
    • Use a slotted spoon to remove the shrimp from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
  6. Serve

Arrange the fried shrimp on a serving platter, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side. Enjoy immediately while hot and crispy.
